Atomz Reports Record Growth
By ASPnews.com Staff

April 30, 2003

Atomz, a San Francisco-based Net-native ASP that offers content management, search and marketing services, today reported what it describes as "record revenues" for the first quarter of 2003, which ended on March 31.

Revenues for the first quarter were up 58 percent over the same quarter last year and 17 percent over the previous quarter, Atomz reports. According to the company new bookings increased 50 percent over the same quarter a year ago, with the company adding more than 35 new customers. Atomz reports that it now has more than 1,400 corporate customers worldwide and a renewal rate of 92 percent.

"Although the economic downturn has wreaked havoc across the software industry, it has played a somewhat unexpected role in shedding light on the significant benefits associated with software delivered as an online service," said Steve Kusmer, CEO of Atomz. "Because most IT organizations are being asked to do more with less, we've found that many are taking another look at hosted software."

Atomz reports the following first quarter highlights:

  • New customers include Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, PRG-Schultz International, Quantum Corp., Smithsonian Institution, Verizon Wireless, Wizards of the Coast (a subsidiary of Hasbro).
  • Earlier this month, the company announced Atomz Alert, a content notification service designed to allow customers to offer e-mail alerts to their Web site visitors. (See Atomz Puts Users on Alert.)
  • Atomz also announced this month the Atomz Partner Program. (See Atomz Launches Partner Program.)
  • Atomz teamed with Verio to offer Web site hosting and managed services to customers.
  • The company announced support for the Macintosh platform in Atomz Publish was added to allow Macintosh users to contribute content to their company Web sites.
  • In January, Atomz integrated multibyte character support into Atomz Promote and Atomz Publish, adding support for Japanese, Chinese, Korean and other Asian languages.

Atomz is listed by ASPnews as a Top 20 Service Provider.
