NaviSite was a narrow miss when ASPnews first published the Top 20 lists in April. The company's future had seemed somewhat uncertain after troubled parent CMGI announced it was looking for a buyer of the provider. But NaviSite continues to host a significant number of ASPs and to develop its managed hosting services, earning the company entry into the Top 20 this month. Progress meanwhile has reinforced its standing within the Top 20 with the acquisition of Allegrix, adding to its appeal to ASPs as an enabler and platform provider. Last month, it announced that more than 200 ISVs have joined its ASPen program, and that it delivered ASP solutions to more than 70,000 end users.
List of ASPs Unchanged ... for Now Meanwhile, today's announcement by intranets.com could result in it hosting a far smaller user base in a month's time after it bars access to its remaining no-fee subscribers. Its position in the list depends on how many customers sign up this month for the paid service. (See No More Free Rides With Intranets.com .) Companies that have solidified their position in the list this month include European ASP Siennax, which has announced doubling its user base to 30,000 in the past six months, and McAfee, which inked a deal to integrate its services with Microsoft's Hailstorm technology.
